10. Jerry Rice’s Residence
Rice retired from the NFL some time ago, but he put well-earned riches to work with his beautiful home in Atherton, California. It’s currently on the market for $14.7 million, just in case you’re interested. So what does your money buy you? How about 16,000+ square feet of space featuring; six bedrooms, four bathrooms, $2 million in electronics, an elevator to travel to all three stories, home theater, sauna, wine cellar, art studio, guest house and a seven car garage, just for starters. Rice’s home also has a gift wrapping room and a massive basement and game room which is likely larger than your entire house.
9. Ray Allen’s Abode
Allen’s new home in Miami is situated along a spectacular, white sand, man-made beach along Biscayne Bay in Florida. This isolated home features 11 bathrooms and 9 bedrooms, a four car garage, live-in maid quarters, and a whirlpool. All told it’s over 11,000 square feet of living space. The interior of the building features rich wood built-ins and wood and stone floors designed in a modern fashion which is reminiscent of a classical southern Florida style. It cost over $13 million to purchase and Allen rents it out for $50,000 a month, if you happen to have some excess cash lying around and need a place to live. Maybe the best feature of this home is an in-ground swimming pool which overlooks the bay.
8. Adrian Beltre’s Edifice
Adrian Beltre is selling this Mediterranean style home which sits on 4-plus acres of land in Bradbury, California. It’s 16,000 square feet and includes seven bedrooms and 14(!) bathrooms. The entryway is decorated with a custom painted ceiling, inlaid marble flooring, and an impressive dual staircase. Other interior spaces include; a batting cage, home theater room, and a rec room. There’s also a 3-bedroom guest house which is the size of a normal house for most of us (2,500 square feet) and a cabana with its own kitchen.
7. LeBron James’ Joint
James’ current home is in Coconut Grove, Florida. It was purchased for $9 million in 2012 and it features over 12,000 square feet, three stories and an amazing view of Biscayne Bay. There are six bedrooms, 8-1/2 bathrooms, library, two-story foyer decorated in onyx, electronic lighting, private garden, home theater, guest house, and a wine cellar. The infinity edge pool includes a bar and a great view overlooking the bay. The garage is large enough for three vehicles. There’s a also a private dock in the back large enough to dock two yachts, for all his friends in the neighborhood who want to drop by.
6. Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias’ Crib
Anna Kournikova’s beautiful home was recently purchased by boyfriend Enrique Iglesias on Biscayne Bay in Florida. Technically it’s his home, but since she is selling hers to move in with him full time, we’ll cheat and include it on the list. Fellow residents of this richly adorned neighborhood include such dignitaries as Matt Damon, Cher, Gloria Estefan, Lil Wayne, Billy Joel and Ricky Martin. This house is massive, over 20,000 square feet in size. It’s so large that it was rumored Iglesias bought two other lots just to demolish the homes on them to make room for his. There’s a lap pool, a Jacuzzi, tennis court, private dock and a sweeping ocean view.
5. Greg Norman’s Mansion
It seems as if all the people on this list want to sell these extravagant residences. Norman is no exception, as it’s rumored he’s listed this impressive home for a mere $25 million. So what does your hard earned coin purchase? How about seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, six half-baths, and a ten car garage? You also get 30,000 square feet of living space, a tennis court, and a lush 7.5 acre lot. There are four floors to get lost inside of. What makes this so interesting is that Norman tried to sell the property alone in 2013 for a loss. When he couldn’t, he instead changed course and planned to build this extravagant residence just to sell the place.
4. Tom Brady’s Dwelling
Brady just built this massive 22,000 square foot mansion in Brentwood. If you’re looking for a house with a butler’s room, this is the one for you. However, the best feature of this huge immensity is that it was built to be self-sustaining. Green advocates will enjoy the rooftop solar panels and rainwater recovery system. This house is so large there’s a bridge that connects two separate wings together. The wrap around swimming pool is awesome. There’s a weight room, nursery, spa, and a wine cellar. As an added benefit Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen now calls Arnold Schwarzenegger and Heidi Klum his neighbors.
3. David Beckham’s Castle
Located in Kensington, Beckham purchased this place for 30 million pounds (with 5 million set aside for renovation), or just over $57 million. It’s over 150 years old and includes 9,000 square feet of living space. There is a private master suite that encompasses an entire floor and includes a room with four nail bars and four hairdressing chairs, a massive dressing room for Victoria, and a private suite and bathroom. There’s also a home office, a luxury spa and gym complete with a massage area, a play room for the kids, and a private ‘snug’ area for David that includes a pool room and a man cave. There’s also a secret tunnel in the basement.
2. Michael Jordan’s Homestead
If you’re looking for some value – then look no further than Jordan’s former home in Chicago which is selling for $16 million (down from $29 million). So what’s Jordan going to do with all the cash from the sale of this place? Glad you asked – he built something better. Jordan’s new home in Jupiter, Florida is massive. The land alone cost $4.8 million and the construction just over $7 million. For all that Jordan got, well everything. There’s 11 bedrooms, an entire wing devoted to athletics (including a basketball court,) a media room with an advanced air filtration system for cigar smoke, and a two-story guard house. It includes just about every type of amenity imaginable – yet it’s oddly situated on an exclusive golf course and not along the Florida coast. Obviously, Jordan favors golfing over sailing and ocean views.
1. Tiger Woods’ Domicile
Apparently Jupiter, Florida is the place to be if you’re worth several hundred million dollars (or more) and where many athletes mansions are placed. There are many expensive homes on this list, but Wood’s place cost him $60 million. Just let that number sink in. For $60 million Woods gets a running track, a four hole private golf course, a glass-enclosed elevator, a massive wine cellar, a cinema room, a master suite with his and hers bathrooms, a boathouse, a guesthouse, and a stunning view of the ocean. There’s also tennis courts, a diving pool with lap lanes, and a private dock for the boats. It has 10,000 square feet of living space with privacy fences and foliage. And it’s the most ridiculously lavish property in the area.
