For the second year in a row, Dwell has collaborated with Klein Financial’s Met Lofts to bring modern luxury and high style to downtown Los Angeles apartments.
Frank Sleisinski, Laura Schwartz-Muller and Rachel Winokur rise to the challenge of transforming urban apartments at Met Lofts in just five weeks. Basically, the country’s largest show dedicated to modern design living.
Sleisinski transformed a two-bedroom, 1,346-square-foot apartment into a serene private setting.
The large living room window spans the width of the room and catches the warm, intoxicating rays of the late afternoon Southern California sun.
The stunning and enlightened kitchen
The wrought iron bed with brass finial accents and fine bed linens adds a simple touch to the master bedroom of the Los Angeles apartment.
The Bathroom is a little bit of sophisticated whimsy, which is a nice contrast to the modern and masculine design that emanates through the rest of the Met Los Angeles Loft.
Laura Schwartz Muller’s design of a studio space at California Met Lofts is modern urban apartment living at its best. From an empty space, the designer created a convertible studio. The living room space is understated yet sophisticated.

The kitchen and the dinner area
The clean and simple bathroom of the downtown Los Angeles Met Loft
Rachel Winokur focused on lightening and brightening the space and dividing it up without closing it in and proved that small doesn’t have to mean predictable and boring.
Opposite the entry is the bathroom.
Upon entering the kitchen one could not possibly miss the bright orange range that surrounded by clean white cabinetry, is the focus of the room.

The projects were open to the public for a month during and following Dwell on Design at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
